Incorporating that Special Someone

There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone, the light remains.

Your wedding day is the happiest day of your life. But are you missing someone special? Do you have anyone who will be watching from Heaven?

My husband and I got married on September 23rd, 2017. It was very important to me to include my loved ones who weren’t able to make it to our wedding. In the months that lead up to our wedding, I lost both of my Grandfathers. While these were the hardest events I have ever had to overcome, I was excited and elated to marry the man of my dreams.

Are you looking for a way to include your loved ones into your day? If so here are a few ways:

Memory photo table

Burning candle in their honor

Reserve a seat at your ceremony

Add a photo charm to your bouquet

Honor them with photo/personal decor

Add a sign in memory of them

Do something personal

I chose to add items to my attire.

I used one of my Grandy’s favorite shirts to create a patch for my dress. I used the pocket in order to still have his shirt whole.

My Papa was a cotton farmer for all of his life. Cotton is very personal and important to me so we added it to my bouquet. I am very sentimental and used the cotton from the farm where Papa farmed for over 50 years.

As you can imagine, having them not be at my wedding was very difficult. All of that to say, I knew they were watching over me.

There was a moment, after the ceremony, when the sun broke through the clouds and we knew they were shining down on us.

By adding these personal touches, their light will shine forever in the memories and photos of our wedding day.

Love, Emily
