Breaking Bread at the Alter

Here at Eberley Brooks, we stand firm on a Christian faith. We view marriage as a unity and believe that we are The Lord’s bride.

“Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church—a love marked by giving, not getting. Christ’s love makes the church whole. His words evoke her beauty.”

Ephesians 5:25-26

Marriage is a beautiful symbol of a God honoring covenant and we are so thankful that we get to be apart of it as much as we possibly can.

Incorporating communion into your wedding ceremony is such a sweet aspect. It is a time that you get to just focus on you, your spouse and what The Lord has done throughout your relationship. It is a time that you are promising to devote all your high’s and low’s to Jesus and promising that you will demonstrate the Gospel.

To share communion on your wedding day is to be in a humble state-of-mind and to stand vulnerable in front of your guests, acknowledging your sins. You are proclaiming that you are redeemed, you are loved, and you are forgiven.

What a breathtaking thing for your wedding guests to experience.

It is so uplifting to see couples come together at the alter to set-aside time for Jesus.

Get alone with God and allow Him to guide you in whether you decide to incorporate communion or not.

You know your heart. The Lord knows your heart. You are no less of a person if you choose not too, and you are no perfect couple if you do choose too.

Just know that whatever your choice may be, we will welcome you with arms wide open.

With love, Hannah
