Tell me about yourself
My early childhood days was spent in Weatherford, TX until I moved to St. Louis when I was ten years old because I was adopted.
I grew up running cross-country, wrestling, and pole vaulting for my high school and until this day I’m still an avid runner. It’s one of my favorite things to do to clear my head and think of new ideas.
When I graduated high school, I went to Texas Tech to study Information Technology for a year and a half. Half-way through my Sophomore year I switched over to communications/advertising
in which I traveled with the sports teams and made videos for their social media.
How did you get started?
I started filming weddings after a friend of mind in college had seen my travel videos and liked my style and wanted to incorporate that into her wedding video.
After seeing the potential I had in the industry adopting a new style I took it and ran with it!
I have now been filming weddings the last 2.5 years.
Why did you start this career path?
If you would’ve asked me 6 years ago I would be a photographer/videographer and make a living from it, I would’ve seriously questioned your sanity.
But here I am doing it – and I tell people this everyday, “I really don’t know what Im doing, but I’m doing it”
I wouldn’t be here with the amount of support I have from my friends in my hometown and the community at Texas Tech.
The bottom line of why I started was due to the fact that growing up, I had very few photos and videos of me and I felt a part of that was missing.
So, I started with a GoPro and started filming my travels and posting it on Instagram.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
My favorite thing about my job is traveling all around, learning about different communities and learning about myself through the many clients I have.
What set’s you apart from others?
I’m very open with my followers/clients.
I’m very energetic and I love getting to know my clients on a personal note.
What is something interesting about yourself that most people don’t know about?
My last name is German because I was adopted when I was 10 years old, after spending about 8 years in foster care.
What do you like to do on your free time?
I love running, but the other thing I love is video games because it allows me to stay connected to my brother and best friend in my hometown!
Being an avid traveler, where are your favorite places you’ve gone?
My favorite place I’ve traveled to so far was Bali, Indonesia because the culture, food, and just experience hiking and motorbiking around the entire island.
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be & why?
If there was still one place I would love to visit, it would be Iceland – I’ve heard so many good things about it.
From the waterfalls to black sand beaches.
Favorite type of video/event to shoot? Any that pull on your heartstrings?
I really enjoy doing promos for restaurants because we get to eat all the food after – its impossible!
Weddings always pull at my heart like anyone else’s!
I have an addiction to black coffee – I even bought my own Chemex!
I LOVE Mcdonalds! I had to give it up for lent just to stop.
Favorite type of music?
My music taste ranges from Edm, Country, and Rap
I don’t know if I have a favorite holiday… but I do love the Fall!
